This is a drawing of the new Piedmont Triad Ambulance & Rescue, Inc. (PTAR) Base Station which is being constructed on The Links Drive at Sandy Ridge Road, at the entrance to the River Landing Retirement Community.

This will be PTAR's 4th Base Station, with our Headquarters Station located at 901 South Elm Street in High Point, and two other Base Stations in southern Greensboro and northeast Greensboro.

A ground breaking ceremony for our newest Base Station was held on
April 5, 2006. Displayed below are several photos from the event.

Participating in the April 5, 2006 ground breaking ceremony for the new PTAR Base Station are (L-R) Tommy McNeill, Vice Commander of the North Carolina Association of Rescue & EMS; Tom Smith, Executive Director of River Landing; Paula Lineberry, Chief of PTAR; High Point Mayor Becky Smothers; Dwight McDowell, President of PTAR; Eddie Reagan, of Darr Construction Company; and Ted Lanis, of High Point Bank & Trust.

As you can see, several PTAR members and employees joined in the ground breaking ceremony, including at the far right of the photo PTAR Chief Paula Lineberry and PTAR President Dwight McDowell.

A large crowd of people, including several elected officials, attended the ground breaking ceremony for the new PTAR Base Station.

Looking over the construction site for the new PTAR Base Station are (L-R) PTAR President Dwight McDowell and Gordon Joyner, Executive Director of the North Carolina Association of Rescue & EMS in Goldsboro.

In the background you can see the rooftops of houses at the River Landing Retirement Community, located just across the street from the new PTAR Base Station property. In addition, the property is located only about 1/2 mile from the City of High Point/Colfax Fire Station #26.
