Piedmont Triad Ambulance & Rescue (PTAR) recently announced two winners of their "Employee Of The Year" award during their Annual Christmas Dinner, which was held on December 15, 2007. Sharing the honor this year were EMT Patricia Fuller and EMT-I Michael Allred. The award, which is voted on by PTAR members, recognizes an employee's dedication, accomplishments, and outstanding job performance. In addition, the award acknowledges the recipient's training achievements, certifications and overall job knowledge. PTAR Chief Paula Lineberry presented the awards and said, "We had two people who stood out in everybody's mind as being excellent personnel." She added, "The person that you select should be someone that portrays all the characteristics of a model technician and employee." Patricia Fuller joined PTAR in August 2006, and is certified at the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) level. Chief Lineberry said that sometimes she doesn't even see Patricia for a long time after she arrives at work, because she goes straight to her duties. She also carries out her duties daily without supervision, maintains her truck in excellent condition, and takes very good care of her patients. Chief Lineberry also stated that Patricia expedites calls in a timely fashion and in a safe manner, is always at work on time, and usually arrives early for work. Michael Allred has been an employee of PTAR since November 1988, and is certified at the Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate (EMT-I) level. Chief Lineberry said that Michael is "very seasoned" and is "100 percent dedicated to the profession and to this agency." Chief Lineberry also said, "He has been instrumental in helping PTAR expand and grow over the years, and can be considered as an expert in our field. He is considered an expert because of all the years that he has put into EMS. And we are certainly glad that he has brought that much experience to the table of PTAR." She added, "He is a fine technician and takes very good care of our patients."
