He is always up to something, and he does a fine job for us." She added, "We had this little statue built for him, and it's to show our appreciation for the good job he does – and we don't tell him that." In accepting the rosewood obelisk, Dwight addressed the PTAR members by saying to them, "The good job that you guys do is what makes it all worthwhile. And to see you guys on the street perform your miracles, and saving lives, and doing the good things that you're out there to do, is what makes it all worthwhile." He added, "It's nice to be able to stand back and see the kind of professionals that you are out there every day, and the kind of professional that Gordon Joyner is – the heart of this system – because you're the backbone of it. And I thank you all very much." Dwight first joined the High Point Rescue Squad in February 1977. The Squad's name was changed to Piedmont Triad Ambulance and Rescue, Inc.(PTAR) in 1998 to reflect a growing service area.
