 PTAR members EMT-I Crystal Pate (left) and EMT Lisa Bowman (right) participated in the Basic Life Support (BLS) competitions at the 51st Annual 2007 NCAREMS Convention in Hickory, N.C. The BLS competition consisted of two scenarios where teams of EMTs evaluated and treated "victims" of a simulated accident and another medical emergency. The teams then secured the "victims" on a stretcher and prepared them for transport to a medical facility. |

 PTAR members EMT-I Robbie Todd (left) and EMT-I Lane Doby (right) participated in the Basic Life Support (BLS) competitions at the 51st Annual 2007 NCAREMS Convention in Hickory, N.C. In this exercise, they have completed the initial patient assessment and treatment, and have immobilized the patient using a cervical collar, straps and a spine board.  PTAR President & Rescue Captain Dwight McDowell (left) participated in the 3rd Annual Durwood Evans Classic Senior Rescue Competition at the 51st Annual 2007 NCAREMS Convention in Hickory, N.C. In this exercise, the team has rescued a "victim" of a simulated accident. They then secured the "victim" on a stretcher and used ropes, pulleys and other rescue techniques to move the "victim" to safety. ~ ~ Dwight's "Red Team" Won A 2nd Place Trophy In This Event ~ ~ |
